Once upon a time, a talented electronic music artist and producer under names of SoulSonic and Giriu Dvasios had a dream of releasing an album and becoming well known and established producer in this world. Although all he knew about how music world works, was signing a contract with a record label, and they’ll do the rest.

After a little while Evaldas (SoulSonic’s/Giriu Dvasios real name) got an offer from a small, starting label from US. They promised CD release and said good things about his music. That was enough for him to accept it, as it felt like a little step towards Evaldas’s dream. Although this release was a failure. No CD was released, sales through digital stores like Beatport were extremely low and label knew nothing about public relations or marketing, to make it at least a little more popular. After an year this release was made available for free download, and digital distribution of it was stopped. It’s still a little know album release of his.

So it seemed like this road to a dream was too foggy. All Evaldas could do is to keep sending demos to various labels, hoping that someone will answer. It looked like shooting anywhere in hopes to hit something. Although he was doing quite well in the local scene when he created Giriu Dvasios, a dub techno project. But local scene, called Lithuania is too small for anyone with big ambitions.

After a lot of struggle in Evaldas musical and personal life, it looked like the only way to get back to his path to a dream is to start a label and to take control of his destiny in his own hands. Very quickly the Cold Tear Records was founded  (March 1st, 2010) and SoulSonic’s second album “Complex” was released.

It was only a start of Cold Tear Records journey. But Evaldas’s determination made his label to be the most productive Lithuanian label, and one of the most productive labels in Europe. It has established a good position in dub techno scene, and is spreading into a bigger variety of electronic music genres.

“Our ultimate goal is to provide you with quality, original, artistic and creative music, without caring about trends, tendencies and anything else.”

Releases are available to buy through the internet wherever you are in the world, for a low price but high quality.

Label is not specializing on any music style, but our criterias are quality, creativity, originality and we don’t want to hear any mainstream music.

At this moment our schedule is quite crowded, and we are not looking for new artists. Although if you feel like your music would really fit our label, and you think we should really consider you as our artist, you can send us something, we’ll take a listen. But it’ll have to be something really good to convince us, that you belong here. Music style doesn’t matter, but we will never release any progressive house, trance, electro house and funky/disco house.

You can send us a cd, but we recommend links to mp3′s through e-mail. We can also check out your myspace, soundcloud or any other pages. Your personal website would work as well.
